Os \u00f3leos vegetais depois de serem utilizados s\u00e3o descartados, muitas vezes, de forma incorreta. Quando esse \u00f3leo atinge um corpo d&#8217; \u00e1gua, ele pode provocar um fen\u00f4meno conhecido como eutrofiza\u00e7\u00e3o da \u00e1gua.
